NEMO!!!

Ava hasn't mastered saying 'fish' yet but we sure saw A LOT of 'Nemo's' today at the Aquarium! I can't believe we hadn't done that before- Ava loved it so much. Can't say fish but can say 'Shark' and wasn't scared at all! That's my girl... I definitely had a healthy intrigue with sharks as a kid ( I was the Jaws obsessed kid with the shark tooth necklace:-) Hmmmm, I wonder if I still have that thing?) But back to Ava- I truly haven't seen her so still in many many months. She loved the stingrays and fish and sharks, but mostly the sea turtles!

Afterwards we picked a shady bench at the Botanical Gardens, ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with salt and pepper potato chips inside (seriously try it- it's like a whole new level of Yum on a PB&J!) and people watched. It was a great way to spend our Sunday morning!

Stingray time!

She seriously sat like this for half an hour.

"Ava, look at the green eel, it looks like a plant, huh?"

"Momeee (Ava's latest name for me) enough pictures..."

This one's for you Uncle Mitch!!!

A Pagosa Springs 4th of July!

We had such a wonderful 4th of July weekend in Pagosa Springs with the Sorenson and Prochnow families! It's been such a long time since we've all been up to the cabin together and I have to say, it was so much more fun than I ever remember it being before! A lot of this has to do with the fact that our little ones (not so little anymore) are at such fun ages! I think we'd all agree that Brody and Ava are enough entertainment for the whole weekend! They both have such cute and interesting perspectives on everything, I think all of us adults just enjoy watching them explore the world and get a good chuckle about what they have to say about it! We had beautiful weather which made for a jam packed weekend. We enjoyed a (very) little bit of working out, 9 holes of golf, swimming, a 4th of July parade, a visit to the hot springs, a quick beer and live music date for Kurt and I at the Pagosa Brewery Beer Gardens, a visit to the emergency room with Aunt Jess (just to get Ava Girl's stitch removed- it went smoothly and healed beautifully!), some sparklers and poppers, a LOT of delicious food and a few great naps and long awaited conversations! It was a fun though kind of exhausting weekend! For some reason the mornings are a lot earlier and the days go by a lot more quickly up there... Oh well! It was well worth it in my book ;-)
